Support the Amazon Global Logistics Procurement team in developing and deploying strategies to dramatically improve cost and lead-times for B2C cross-border movements.

Perform spend analysis, benchmarking, supply market analysis to establish a baseline for performance. Assist in the management of tender processes and analyse RFQ results.

Prepare and execute negotiations, finalizing outcomes through preparation of work orders and contract approvals for freight forwarders, small parcel, rail, ocean and air carriers.


  • Be a key leader / partner in supporting AGL’s vision to improve cross-border cost and speed goals
  • Conduct initial supplier assessments and Requests for Information (RFIs) to support market intelligence
  • Coordinate supplier-facing commercial activities such as tenders and supplier development projects. Manage diverse stakeholder groups including Amazon business owners and suppliers;
  • act as a point of contact for supplier escalation and queries related to activity

  • Analyze RFI and RFQ responses. Benchmark rate information versus historic pricing and versus competition. Model different scenarios in terms of impact on cost and performance, make recommendations, and support leadership in making award decisions
  • Develop and maintain a commodity price trackers and outlook (e.g., fuel, shipping) to support category strategy
  • Support the development and application of cost models / clean-sheet models
  • Perform supplier spend analysis, including reporting to establish visibility of spend patterns by category, region, and supplier.
  • Prepare and lead supplier negotiations
  • Support Business Owners on execution of Contracts, Amendments and Work Orders, liaising with Legal, Tax, Finance, and Risk as required
  • Obtain data and stakeholder input to support supplier performance and business reviews.
  • Identify, review and report on supplier metrics and savings for category activities. Connect supplier performance reporting to other business groups

  • Achieve yearly cost saving and performance targets set for the team
  • Ensure procurement processes meet agreed timescales and achieve business objectives.
  • Earn the trust of key stakeholders as the function develops
  • Champion standards and process improvements
  • Obtain forecast information from business owners to support the category
  • BA / BS degree in Transportation, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or related field with an analytical focus
  • 5+ years Global Transportation / Logistics, Logistics, or Supply Chain industry experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience performing cost / benefit analysis, analyzing risk / reward tradeoffs, and making decisions in a highly-ambiguous and ever-changing environment
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups)
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with global standards for cross border supply chain for B2C parcels,
  • Demonstrated financial and / or analytical experience including familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and / or data interpretation and analysis of large data sets (e.g. for RFQ analysis)
  • Solid experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment;
  • effective multi-tasking skills are vital

  • Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with peers and various levels of management; Ability to represent Company in Senior Discussions with external parties
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Tableau, Essbase and / or Cognos)
