Objective of job

Your responsibility is to ensure the product safety of a HV-battery project of an BEV or PHEV from early development phase to series production

Specification of electrical product safety requirements oft he battery (for instance : definition of isolation classification, )

Supporting Lead Safety Analyses (for instance : FMEA) on system- and component-level

Definition of Test- and Validation criteria inclusive the evaluation of the results

Cell- EE- mechanical development consulting and support

Develop and maintain product safety documentations in order to support the release process

Understanding of International and Chinese GB Standards required for functional safety

Task description

Project management

Prepare and manage safety plan, tracking, review and acceptance of standard work products

Prepare safety status report for main milestones

Prepare safety case

Alignment with internal and external partners for the development.

Functional safety development

Understanding of International and Chinese GB Standards required for functional safety

Conduct System Safety Analysis (HARA, FMEA, FTA ) to support product development

Conduct Safety Analysis (FMEA)

Support safety requirement implementation

Conduct verification and validation of safety requirements

Internal Coordination

Align the work scope and results at each relevant phase within RD China and MBC / RD

Work together with cross-functional departments like product planning, quality and logistics, set up project milestones as well as coordinate activities to pursue tight time schedules.

Reporting

Prepare the necessary materials to report the findings of the concept phase at RD China internal reviews as well as Management reviews within MBC.

Point our and evaluate risks in order to support the escalation. Align and present the materials to all relevant parties.

Education

University degree in Automotive / vehicle Engineering, Electric, Electronics Engineering or Aerospace

Experience

At least 3 years’ working Experience in RD Daimler or other OEM or supplier regarding Battery functional safety

Specific knowledge

Good at spoken and written English

Knowledge of system development processes

Knowledge of technical safety standards : LV123, DIN EN 60664-1

Knowledge in the use of common quality tools such as. FMEA
