As a Field Application Engineer focussing on NXP’s WiFi, BTE and BLE products and solutions, you’ll be one of the key players in the Customer Applications Support team and part of a worldwide technical community providing premium pre and post sales technical support to NXP customers and their projects.
You drive demand creation and design-in activity at customer sites in close cooperation with the NXP business lines; you provide technical skills & support to NXP’s sales staff and will liaise with the NXP technical community about technical issues and future roadmap of your customer(s).
We rely on you to deliver the NXP value message in a persuasive and accurate manner, in order to increase our market share.
Provide Technical support directly or via our Distribution partners to NXP customers, across the complete development cycle from architecture to production.
Manage & diagnose customer issues, collect debug logs from customer setups, be able to replicate and analyze customer issues to propose solutionsWork with technical and project management groups inside NXP to :
Work closely with the local Sales team and Distribution FAE’s to provide pre-sales support and technical presentations regarding product strategy and roadmaps, features, industry technology and competitive positioning.
Understand fundamentally what the customer trying to achieve in terms of their design objectives and the problems they are trying to solve.
Against this deliver our proposed solutions including key value propositions (against competition where appropriate) to key technical and managerial stakeholders.
Define demonstration scenarios for industry events or individual customer meetings, contribute to their implementation and delivery.
Collect customer feedback and provide input to Marketing for design requirements, product enhancements, new product opportunities relating to the development and execution of product features, technical demonstrations, presentations, marketing collateral and sales tools.
Fully understand and articulate to others how 3rd party ecosystem solutions can position NXP in the best possible manner.
Deliver internally and to our Distribution partners ongoing formal and informal knowledge sharing and product positioning that helps assigned accounts understand the operational, financial, and business impact of NXP solutions within their practice areasSuccessfully build trusted relationships with sales team members, business lines, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives.
Key Personal and Technical Attributes
Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.Previous experience in a Semiconductor Applications role and / or OEM design role (min 5yrs in either.
Expert Knowledge and practical experience (ideally H / W & S / W) of WLAN (802.11g,n,ac & 802.11ax).Wider Wireless knowledge in areas such as BT, Zigbee etc and associated topics such as interop and coexistence is an advantage.
Previous exposure to embedded software support, including RTOS and Linux environments.A fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to simply and clearly explain complex technical topics and concepts.
Comfortable presenting in a wide variety of situations such as presenting to customers, public speaking at industry events or running internal and external training sessions.
Accepts responsibility, is self-motivated and accountable for driving business oriented results such as design-wins as well as owning technical issues seeing them through to a conclusion.
Flexible in nature, adapting easily to changing plans and situations, comfortable with travel and diverse working conditions.
