Position Title : Director, Product (Hollister Co.) APAC

Reports to : Vice President, Global Brands - APAC

Location : A&F China - Shanghai, China

This individual will work as part of the APAC Brands team to develop local product strategy and support for the Hollister brand.

He / She will drive product strategy across all channels (local websites, Tmall marketplace and retail stores). They will build and direct a team and take a leadership role helping to grow our brands.

This person will work directly with the global product team to create the local version of our brand aesthetic. Success in this role will be highly dependent upon building and maintaining exceptional relationships with internal and external teams in both China and the US.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee APAC product strategy and operations, including the development of an APAC exclusive product assortment (expected to be 10-
  • 20% of total regional assortment by SKUs)

  • Partner closely with VP, APAC Global Brands to develop regional strategy and drive significant sales growth
  • Supervise a team of 5 to 8 across Merchandising, Planning and Inventory Management, working closely to influence the development, plans, and allocation of all product in the region.
  • Ensure consistency of all regional buys, including APAC-exclusive product, with brand identity and integrity
  • Leverage regional trend forecasting and customer insights resources to shape assortment distortions according to APAC consumer preferences
  • Partner with APAC Marketing team to strategize and execute on regional business goals, increase brand awareness, and improve brand positioning in the region
  • Lead seasonal hindsight process to inform future strategy and line list needs for design
  • Participate in weekly selling / business updates as part of a regular Monday review process, working with team to identify strengths, opportunities and recommended actions
  • Participate in monthly MPC meetings, working with team to identify upsides and risks to the plan
  • Partner closely with Home Office to communicate product strategy and ensure APAC-exclusive product stays on track throughout the development process
  • Travel regularly to Columbus, Ohio to participate in key Home Office meetings
  • Requirements :

  • Strong academic credentials from a top tier university / college or equivalent
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of retail or related industry experience
  • Significant familiarity and experience working on a global brand
  • Passion for customer centricity and continued understanding of evolving customer needs
  • Relevant experience working for a vertical retailer with significant international sales
  • Experience managing seasonal product development process
  • Strong eye for trend and quality as it relates to the Hollister brand aesthetic
  • Proven critical thinking and analytical ability through department / category growth
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience managing teams of across varying functions
  • Successful track record for product sales growth and / or brand market penetration
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • High-level acumen and appreciation for fashion retail excellence
  • Experience working on multiple fashion product categories
  • Work experience in companies that have significant international operations
  • Great influencing skill to create impact.
