The Strategyand Business Development Director will help to execute and accelerategrowth plans for Cargill Animal Protein China (CAPC).

CAPC is a part of theCargill Protein Asia & Europe Group (CPAE) and consists of an integratedpoultry processing and further processing operations, and other animal proteinprocessing, and alternative protein manufacturing assets servicing high growthcustomers in the food service and retail markets.

CPAE has operations in eightcountries across Asia and Europe and exports to more than 30 countriesglobally.

The role will workclosely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team ( SLT ) membersof CAPC as well as the Group Strategy Leader of CPAE.

The role will work tocreate and execute various organic and inorganic strategies to accelerate thegrowth of Cargill’s protein business in China.

The role will have a directreporting line to the Managing Director, a dotted line reporting to the CPAEGroup Strategy Lead and be part of the CAPC SLT.

This will ensure thatenterprise, group and country strategies are closely aligned. The role requiresa good understanding of consumer trends and competitive landscape in China andan ability to think critically to promote growth and ensure the long-termgrowth and success of CAPC.

The successful candidate will be a self-starterwith a high degree of ownership, willingness to roll up their sleeves and focuson delivering results.


Develop and ExecuteStrategy work closely with the Managing Director, SLT and Group Strategy Leadto develop and execute a strategy that profitably grows the size of CAPC.

Thisincludes taking ownership of and leading the execution of various strategic projects.This requires interpreting the short- and long-term trends in proteinconsumption in China and monitoring the developments of competitors in themarket.

Act as an independent thought partner to the Managing Director and SLTand influence others without direct authority. Support the Managing Director indeveloping and maintaining relationships with key partners and industryparticipants in China.

Ability to identify, monitor and develop relationshipswith potential acquisition targets together with the Managing Director and SLT.

Support the evaluation, acquisition and integration of targets.

Lead and manage teams work together with the SLT and broader CAPC team, organize and manage teams,clarify expectations, and help to promote and develop strategic thinking acrossthe team.

Role will need to ensure completed work meets expectations. Thisrequires working with timelines, challenges, and learnings to ensure projectsdeliver on promises (scope, timeline, budget).

Work closely with the GroupStrategy Lead to ensure alignment with Group and Enterprise strategy. Takeownership of portfolio of projects, own data management and provide effectivelywritten and verbal communications to the Group.

Strategy portfolio andalignment work effectively across a cross functional and matrixed enterpriseto understand global priorities and translate those priorities to our businessin China.

Drive growth across seafood, alternative protein and beef. Thisincludes maintaining close relationships with global teams to align and drivethe success of Cargill’s overall protein business in China.

Successfully managecompeting priorities to deliver a portfolio of strategic initiatives acrossmultiple protein types.

Cross Cargillcollaboration work collaboratively with other business and functionalpartners across Cargill. This could include business partners in Cargill’sAnimal Health and Nutrition division or functional partners in CorporateStrategy and Development, for example.


Minimum RequiredQualifications

  • Education of Master’s degree in business / Bachelor degreewith commensurate experience
  • Experience of 7+ years with proven track record of success inteams
  • Businessskills for successful businessgrowth, portfolio and project management, and delivering financial impact
  • Leadershipskills with senior leaders,stakeholder management, project teams. Willingness to listen and develop talent
  • Competency in developing strategy, developing business,analytical skills, lead change, interpersonal skills (verbal, listening,working with others), and entrepreneurial approach (sense-of-urgency, results orientated)
  • Travel across China to review opportunities up to 25%
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
  • PreferredQualifications

  • Education of Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience in animal protein, a complex multinationalbusiness, or food production
  • Businessskills with investment banking,strategy execution, corporate / business development
  • Leadership inexecuting projects and working effectively in teams
  • Fluency in a second language
  • Based ideally in China currently
