Duties & responsibilities What this job involves
Are you a natural business developer? For this role, we need someone who can drive the growth of our Project & Development Services business, incorporating PM consultancy and Design & Construction.
You’ll need to be someone who enjoys creating and successfully executing new opportunities in the ever changing Shanghai market.
You’ll play a major part in strategy development and lead from the front, seeking out new services or markets for further diversification.
Acting as a mentor to the team, you’ll understand and implement the Standard Operating Procedures of JLL and ensure that they are implemented by all staff on all projects.
In this role, you will be working closely with various stakeholders across our wider Project & Development Services team.
You’ll see the bigger picture and you’ll work in a cohesive way across departments leveraging JLL’s local, regional and global relationships and network.

Being Commercial Savvy
You’ll be responsible for setting and meeting the financial targets for the PDS team in Shanghai. Always looking for improvement opportunities, you’ll be constantly striving to implement more efficient working process to reduce waste and increase profitability.
A sharp business acumen is needed to optimize our profit margins, reduce and remove risk, achieve compliance and truly enhance our value proposition to clients.
You’ll be the lead on upholding the ethical values of JLL throughout our PDS business in Shanghai. Leading by example, you’ll provide on-
going education to all existing and new staff about ethics and their importance. Sustainability is embedded in our culture at JLL, so you’ll work closely with the ESS Team in China, implementing sustainable work methods and processes to all projects and communicating it to the team.

This is a big role and we think you will need at least 10 years’ experience in Project Management, Design & Construction.
You’ll have exposure to the full life cycle including design, financials, risk management, negotiation and Project Management consultancy.
Most importantly, you’ll understand and have a proven track record in providing client solutions, P&L management, business growth and improving profitability.
Can you make to make tough decisions that resolve problems or improve operations? Can you actively search out improvement opportunities and empower the team to implement them?
The ability to inspire the team to greater success is pivotal. You’ll be responsible for setting individual goals and team performance targets, coaching and mentoring them to ensure successful delivery.
Can you get your ideas across clearly both verbally and in writing? You’ll be working with many diverse stakeholders, so the way you share information and your ability to persuasively convey information is highly important.
Ability to converse is both Mandarin and English is highly beneficial.

Employee specificationA degree holder with a minimum of Bachelor level within Construction related field. Any professional Project Management, Design or Construction related accreditation would be advantageous.
