Work with engineering team, join in die design review, status follow and quality improvement, vendor buyoff
Manage home line die tryout and quality loop to support new model launch on time and on quality.
Lead implementation of Die Modification Requests (DMRs) to improve dimensional quality of stamped panels to increase panel fit in BIW and overall body accuracy.
Planning and execution on new Checking Fixture, Arm Tooling, Racks / Pallet, etc.
Develop and execute detailed project timeline plans providing regular updates to management.
Develop stamping die maintenance system, PM plan, and spare parts strategy.
Reduce die related downtime, striving for zero downtime.
Continue cost reduction, e.g. material utilization improvement.
Develop methods to track effectiveness of Tool & Die systems and identify and implement items to drive improvements.
Implement systems to reduce occurrence of defects (target is 0).
Significant interaction with suppliers and management of contract expectations
BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering
7+ years of experience on Process Engineering / Die design / Manufacturing or Launch.
5+ years of experience in large die and skin panel, aluminium experience is a plus.
Experience working with dies with world class appearance requirements.
Must possess process engineering skills (process development / improvement, troubleshoot, data analysis, etc.)
Strong analytic problem solving skills
Strong organizational, communication and documentation skills.
Ability to solve problems using structured methods.
Experience breaking down high-level (e.g. device level) performance issues into addressable action items.
Capable of identifying critical process parameters and applying statistics to process measurement and control.
Strong skills with common workplace software (word processor, spreadsheet, etc).
Significant, extended travel, includinginternationally may be required from time to time
