Assistant Store Manager - Shanghai

Lead and supervise store team to achieve sales goals, maintain highest level of customer service, enhance customer relationship, ensure flawless retail operations execution, and coach / develop sales professionals.

1) Staff management

  • Demonstrate sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor (Role Model etc).
  • Hire, evaluate, train, position and discipline the staff in a manner consistent with company policies to reflect business strategy and meet sales goals.
  • Motivate staff to achieve sales, service, CRM and store operations goals.
  • Encourage and support the individual development of staff and communicate to Sales Manager staff suggestions and needs;
  • encourage exchange of ideas.

  • Promote and maintain harmonious staff relations.
  • Determine the needs for coverage and define scheduling. Identify individual and team training needs and work with the training team and retail coach to create and implement necessary training plans.
  • Supervise store personnel and enforce company policies while adhering to proper procedures regarding disciplinary action.
  • 2) Sales management

  • Continuously motivate sales staff to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.
  • Implement Events and develop in-store incentives that will continue to grow customer base, with particular emphasis placed on building local market.
  • Develop and motivate staff through sales goal setting and regular individual and storewide meetings.
  • Establish and implement action plans in cooperation with the Sales Manager, to develop sales for each product category and clientele.
  • Be aware of local trading environment and it’s impact on our sales, including competitors’ trading activities.

    3) Inventory Management

  • Meet inventory accuracy and shrink requirements.
  • Work with merchandising team for proper inventory mix matching to market needs.
  • Review merchandise assortment on a regular basis. Plan and take necessary steps to optimize stock level and stock mix to reflect sales and customer demands.
  • Present merchandise in a manner consistent with company standards, in order to maximize sales and merchandise turn.
  • 4) Customer service and CRM

  • Maintain the highest degree of customer service every day.
  • Ensure that sales professional have the proper skills to handle complex customer service issues, ie dissatisfied customers, returns, defective merchandise, repairs.
  • Empower associates to make decisions to provide the best customer service.
  • Act as brand ambassador to strengthen relationship with the VIP clientele.
  • Ensure the proper use of COMPASS for CRM action planning and customer relationship maintenance, keep enhancing customer loyalty and maximizing repeat purchase.
  • Maintain the highest standard of CVM and housekeeping both on and off the sales floor at all times.
  • 5) Store operations management

  • Oversee all facets of store operations including billing, daily reconciliation reports, and bank statements.
  • Take necessary actions to effectively control costs and ensure efficient operations in store.
  • Implement company internal procedures and shrinkage control guidelines to prevent stock discrepancies.
  • Implement and support all security measures.
  • Effective utilization of GE and POS system.
  • Provide monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports.
  • Ensure the proper use of the staffing plan to provide appropriate store coverage.
  • Maintain the highest standard of CVM and housekeeping both on and off the sales floor at all times.
  • 6) Cross function collaboration

  • Work as a team partner with all functions (sales, retail operations, marketing, merchandising, HR, training, finance and operations team) colleagues to ensure flawless retail execution, customer satisfaction and contribute to a positive store environment.
  • Qualifications

  • 6 years or above retail store operations experience, luxury brand preferred
  • Good track record on sales driven, customer development and store operations
  • Entrepreneur spirit
  • Strong team building and leadership & coaching skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Must be well organized, detailed oriented, sales driven, self-motivated and can work under pressure
  • Good at written and spoken English is preferred
  • Good command of Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor degree and above
