Strategic Planning

  • Coordinate with brand teams to build market forecast and brand forecast model
  • Lead the annual long range plan and budget process, prepare senior management review with China, regional and global leadership
  • Work independently with other functional teams such as business development, sales, marketing, medical and regulatory to gain their inputs and align on the strategic interest
  • Prepare the monthly strategic update to BU leadership team on key industry trends, competitive moves and key events in therapeutic area
  • New Product Planning

  • Assess commercial potential of pipeline products, build business case and gain alignment with key stakeholders
  • Work with cross-function teams such as medical, R&D, regulatory and global counterparts to ensure the development priority and timely launch of pipeline products in China
  • Represent DBU in the new product planning global governance process (e.g., TARC, DWG, IDC, PFR)
  • Stay current with the diabetes therapeutics area development progress and provide input on new product development directions
  • New product Launch readiness

  • Develop the launch readiness plan, brand strategy and brand plan for new product at NDA stage
  • Coordinate the cross-function effort to accelerate timeline from NDA approval to commercial launch
  • Execute Year 1 brand plan of the new product, including working with medical and local marketing team to gain KOL support of the new product, launching marketing programs to support clinical adoption of the new product
  • Define sales target, fieldforce structure, incentive, call flow, DAs to support fieldforce effective detailing of the product
  • Business Development Assessment

  • Screen the external business development opportunities and make recommendation on opportunities to pursue
  • Develop business cases to support the commercial rationale for business development projects
  • Work as representative of DBU to support he smooth execution of BD projects
  • Others

  • Identify additional growth opportunities for DBU, validate the impact of growth opportunities, develop recommendation on how to capture the opportunites, pilot the project implementation
