Coffee Exchange (CEx) is a global coffee marketplace that connects coffee farmers directly to coffee roasters. Using transparency and supply chain tracking technology the Coffee Exchange is changing how Coffee is traded on the planet.
Coffee Exchange has operations in Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador & Peru and imports into China, USA and the UK.
Our team is made up of British, Chinese, Ecuadorian, and American teammates. We love to work hard, play hard and drink tons of coffee! We raised a seed round of investment in June 2019 and are currently preparing for our Series A, the company and team are growing quickly so come join us at our new office in the heart of Jingan.
Coffee Exchange is dedicated to providing an excellent learning opportunity to Summer Interns while ensuring they provide lasting value for the company and have ownership over key projects.
Below is a list of upcoming projects within the Marketing and Sales functions. We are also open to exploring cross-functional projects outside of this area.
MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital Marketing Strategy + Execution
Develop a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for Coffee Exchange across all online platforms
Create a budget then plan, execute and track marketing campaigns
Calculate Customer Acquisition Costs from various channels and advise executive leadership on which strategies are the most cost effective
Project manager for Coffee Exchange booth and operations at trade events such as HotelX, Beijing Coffee Show, Etc.
Plan booth design, cupping activities and sales + marketing materials
Pitch and execute other in person coffee events to attract new clients and followers
CEx Business Development Strategy
Research and develop a comprehensive business development for Coffee Exchange to grow client base in targeted cities
Research optimal target cities based on market size, growth and current Coffee Exchange market share
Develop and execute specific customer acquisition strategies (online and offline) within target cities
Calculate customer acquisition costs and efficacy of different strategies to develop a standard playbook for Coffee Exchange expansion in new cities
Business Development Execution
Connect with existing clients to gain a deeper understanding of customer demands
Prospect and develop a database of new leads using various online channels (Taobao, Eleme, Dianping, Ect.)
Call new leads to introduce the Coffee Exchange platform and offer samples
Document the optimal process from Lead Generation to New Client within a CEx sales manual that can be used to onboard and teach new colleagues
Based on historical data and industry trends develop a demand forecasting tool for Coffee Exchange
Research the green coffee industry in China to help Coffee Exchange identify scenarios which would lead to demand increases or decreases
Research the impact of COVID-19 on the coffee industry in China, provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of findings to the Coffee Exchange management team
Current university student or recent graduate
Languages : Native level Mandarin and fluent English
Ability to self-manage time and projects
Previous experience in Sales + Marketing desired but not required
Passion for startups and desire to learn!
