BASF posted sales of over€7.3 billion in 2019 to customers in Greater China and employed 9,230 people asof the end of that year.

Objectives :

Responsible for pre-marketing activities for PetrochemicalsDivision basic products from Golden Island Production Polyolefins,Aromatics, Fuel Pool.

Main Tasks : Market Intelligence

Market Intelligence

Build industry knowledge and establish connection to key players alongthe value chain.

Provide mid-to-long term S / D balance, long term sustainability of theplayers along the value chain, competitors, and customers.

Price mechanism & cost benchmarks

Represent in projects preparation, negotiations, and market studies withinternal and external stake holders.

Provide input in the preparation of product / SBU strategy.

Investment project Golden Island

Work together with regional & global strategy team to prepareinvestment project business plan . This includes sales plan, margin, customer,logistics, price delivered to customer, and other relevant documentation.

Develop & implement pre-marketing plans for the given sales concept.

Customers : Explore customers for merchant sales both in terms of spotbusiness and long-term strategic business. Identify strategic customers, definelong-term collaboration / partnership concept and lead this discussion with thecustomer.

Logistics Based on the market practice and needs of customer, definethe requirement to the logistics team. And, together develop optimizedlogistics concept along the network from our site to the customer.

Interface : work with Petrochemicals Divisionteam in HK / LU / China, Supply Chain, Logistics, Legal and Golden Islandinvestment project team.

Establish effective working relationships & communication with salesorganization, marketing team, JV partners to ensure that relevant inputs forinvestment project are delivered and product strategies are implemented.

Requirements :

Education : Bachelor’s in chemistry or Chemical engineering

Working Experience : At least 8 years work experience with productmanagement / sales in Chemicals sector

Detailed knowledge of P&L and Balance sheets

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills

Entrepreneurial with creative thinking

BASFis currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdongprovince. Announced in July 2018 and officially commenced in November 2019,BASF Guangdong Verbund site (Golden Island) project would be BASF’s largestinvestment with up to US$10 billion upon completion and would be operated underthe sole responsibility of BASF.

The site would ultimately be the third-largestBASF site worldwide and will be built into a role model for smart manufacturingand sustainable production by utilizing the latest digital technologies andapplying the highest safety standards.

The Petrochemicals Division is the "Heart of theVerbund". It produces and markets a broad portfolio of Petrochemicals. Thechemicals are used among others in PET bottles, antifreezing agents, coatings,superabsorbent polymers, carbonated drinks or cling films to name only a fewexamples.
