JOB PURPOSE :
The position of SupplierCollaboration Engineer will be the leader and key communicator for variousCollaborative Product and Process Development teams to interface with Suppliersand Purchasing to ensure early supplier collaboration on design formanufacturability, assembly and costs as well as adherence to APQP guidelines.
The Position leads Cost Modeling activities that support the setting of TargetCosts and managing product cost to achieve target while optimizing value.
Additional functionalresponsibilities include : supplier selection at a part- number level aligned tocategory strategies, supplier tooling validation & management, design for Xelements & provide PFEP requirements to deliver on engineered value chains.
Accountability : To meet product cost, quality and timetargets in the product- life cycle including NPI through supplier collaborationat a part number level for their respective components, systems and / orcategories ( specify total cost management to include Ex-
works, packaging& logistics ).
This Person must have at least 8 to 10-year-experienceof working in a Fabrication / Hydraulics / Electricals or relevant SDE / Buyerexperience
Knowledge of the tools and techniques of 6 Sigmamethodology is highly desired .
The position requires a bachelor’s degree orequivalent experience, preferably in in Mechanical or other Engineering.
The position requires an engineering or manufacturingbackground plus familiarity with manufacturing processes used to producecomponents and assemblies for Caterpillar Products.
Good human relation / communication skills as well aspossess the potential for leadership is required to develop a
cooperative working relationships with others bothinside and outside of Caterpillar.
Solid ability to use and demonstrate statistical andproblem solving tools is required.
Good in English communication as workinglanguage.
