Position Purpose & Summary
The food modified starch product line specialist works closely with the Starch Product Line Manager to develop, recommend and implement the China food modified starch strategy to achieve the objectives defined in the CSST APAC business plan.
Collaborates with commercial leaders in China to propose new avenues for profitable growth and distinctive value proposition.
Jointly leads in collaboration with commercial leaders the overall pricing policy for food modified starch products in China to ensure consistency and P&L optimization.
Coordinates within business to optimize customer experience, maximize profit and capacity utilization. Proposes action plans to support profitable growth and speed-
to-market. Develop relationships with key customers in China to allow for strategic growth and development with these customers.
Consolidate the China food modified starch project pipeline in order to ensure a constant stream of project aimed at developing the overall profitability of the PL.
oWork with starch product line manager to develop and implement the product line strategy (3-5 years) in China. Work closely with China business teams to ensure alignment of objectives and execution
oCoordinate and lead the PRT (Portfolio Review Team) of food modified starch products for GC to ensure full alignment and execution of strategy, define priorities and manage appropriate resources.
Proposes new avenues for profitable growth and distinctive value proposition
oWork closely with GC FIBI R&D team (TS / application) and China commercial teams to identify, and develop New Business opportunities.
Review product portfolio. Co-ordinate & drive the innovation pipeline & realization of new products
Innovation pipelines to ensure sustainable profitability by developing new products / innovations
Work closely with application group and technical service to develop new applications. Work to insure alignment of project priorities interfacing with geographic leaders, Applications and categories’ technical teams and / or TAP.
Liaise with other Cargill Business Units.
oLead in collaboration with commercial leaders the overall food modified starch pricing policy for the China to ensure consistency and P&L optimization.
Develop and maintain (in collaboration with global S&S) transparent process to select best sourcing plant to maximize Cargill P&L.
Maximize pricing through strategic pricing.
oBe accountable for the IBP review of starch GC. And work closely with operation, supply chain, FSQR and FPNA
oParticipate the competitive intelligence process for modified starch products in the region with the support of the local teams including S&D, cost curves, competitors strategies etc .
Uses the Competitive Intelligence output to tactical and strategic plan.
Key performance measure : Gross Margin.
oCollaborate across Cargill businesses and functions to discover, design and develop effective solutions for the customer that help differentiate Cargill offering versus competition.
Build customer enthusiasm and accelerate enterprise customer focus.
oWorks through the China sales team to develop customer mapping, identify new opportunities and ensure successful execution.
oDevelop and support food modified starch key customers development in collaboration with KAM (Key account management) and / or ECL (Enterprise Customer Lead).
oMake pricing decision together with key account manager and commercial manager for key accounts.
oIn case of capacity- / availability limitations, work with product line manger to manage customer and product portfolio regionally under clear margin and channel optimization aspects and strategic consideration.
oWork with product line manager to drive product value proposition including product mix optimization, appropriate training and communication support to the commercial organization.
oProvide direct support to the commercial organization by means of joint customer calls. Collect customer input / insight from sales and through customer meetings to be integrated as part of product line strategy
