The candidate will be responsible for defining test requirements and test procedures, work with an existing team of individual contributors to test NXP WiFi SoCs in AP / Client reference designs
The candidate will be responsible for the execution of these testcases and tracking of WiFi product quality individually as well as with the team.
This includes functional, performance, stress, use case interoperability, industry standard conformance test cases.
The candidate will work closely with development engineers, other validation engineers, application engineers, marketing personnel and in some cases directly with the customer to understand the specifics of the product, its requirements and its intended usage to develop in-depth validation test plans and execute these test plans independently.
The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science with 3+ years of experience.Strong understanding of WIFI 802.11a / b / g / n / ac / ax protocols and the ability to troubleshoot as needed to solve problems.
Problem reporting should include a full analysis of test scenarios used and the issues found.
The candidate should be very familiar with the use of tools like Wireshark or Omnipeek and be able to analyze sniffer traces and isolate problems based on information gathered from sniffer traces collected.
Wireless networks require a very strong understanding of L2 & L3 networking
The candidate must possess an excellent knowledge of wired and wireless networking in general including Layer2 and Layer3 protocols like IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, TCP, UDP and be able to troubleshoot when necessary.
A good understanding of WiFi 802.11 certification & DFS is a plus.
The candidate must have a very good understanding of security mechanisms used in wireless access points including 802.
1x used in enterprise wireless access points.
Candidate should have experience working with Radius servers on Linux or Windows.
Experience in scripting using TCL, Expect, Python & Perl is a must as the engineer should be able to create tools required in order to test or modify existing tools where required.
Strong written and verbal communications including the ability to document test plans, test results and to interpret test results into actionable recommendations.
