The Role

The solutions consultant APAC and China director manages the SC team covering the R&D market and oversees customer demonstrations, RFP responses and introduction of new Veeva products into the R&D market.

Additionally, the SC director is responsible for managing staff and hiring new candidates for the SC team.Close engagement with the R&D leader, sales manager / account executives and strategy director in the region are also required.

Leadership, creativity, energy, product knowledge and a lead by example’ style is required. The ability to mentor and manage a distributed team is critical.

What You'll Do

  • Leading the R&D APAC and China Solution Consulting team.
  • Working with internal key stakeholders from other regions for guidance and support
  • Oversight / lead / support of customer demonstrations and response to RFx
  • Introduction of new products into the APAC and China market.
  • Management of demonstration environments
  • Work closely with the sales team to build, manage and maintain key customer and prospect relationships
  • Hiring, onboarding, and coaching SC team members
  • Provide customer feedback to the product management and engineering teams to capture new customer requirements or suggestions
  • Manage a distributed team of Solution Consultants across the region, and guide the team on customer engagement, product knowledge and best practices for ensuring high-quality winning deliverables during the sales cycle
  • Be willing to travel for customer commitments, estimated at 30-50% (although subject to specific opportunities)
  • Requirements

  • Comfortable engaging with C-level executives, IT and / or business managers, and be able to tailor the conversation and topics of discussion accordingly
  • Solution consultant / Pre-Sales experience
  • At least 5+ years experience in the Life sciences industry, 10+ years experience in total
  • Ability to quickly understand critical client requirements, value drivers, needs and articulate potential solutions
  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle and ability to create high-quality presentations and proposals
  • Experience in small, agile sales teams and must enjoy the start up challenge’.
  • Previous / extensive experience with team management, with the ability to effectively manage remote team members
  • As part of the candidate evaluation process you will be required to interview with members of the Veeva team, and participate in a job skills exercise to demonstrate your ability to present and deliver

    Nice to Have

  • Understanding of SaaS / Cloud solutions and technology
  • Deep experience in either the pharmaceutical clinical data management, clinical operation, regulatory or quality business domain
  • Enterprise Architecture and Integration consulting skills
